Two Drunk Drivers Cause Commuter Chaos In Houston Texas0
This weekend, police cruisers were forced to respond to a wreck on Highway 59. A suspected drunk driver hit a vehicle, which was carrying a horse trailer and 11 horses. Unfortunately, the trailer caught fire, leading to the death of three of the horses. Eight other horses were transported away from the scene in another automobile.
The alleged drunk driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. While cruisers had the road blocked, another alleged drunk driver decided to delay traffic even longer. Around 5 AM, a Dodge Ram sped down the highway. While traveling at a high rate of speed, the Ram crashed into two police vehicles. It was a 27-year-old man driving the truck at the time of the incident.
Officers are now saying that the violent collision with the pickup truck and two Houston Police Department cruisers on the Southwest Freeway could have been much worse. No officers were injured in the accident, but one was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
Houston police have confirmed that the officer’s injuries were minor. The driver of the Dodge Ram was ultimately arrested for drunk driving and transported to the hospital. The highway remained closed for a period this morning as investigators attempted to reconstruct the wreck.
