Two Clerks At George’s Liquor Store In Pittsfield Robbed At Gunpoint


Pittsfield Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at George’s Liquor Store Friday afternoon. Approximately 8:48 p.m., police were dispatched to 19 Elm Street to investigate a reported robbery. At the scene, the officers spoke with two clerks who said a man entered the store, approached the counter, brandished a gun and demanded money.

Police obtained the store’s surveillance video, which supported the clerks’ story. The clerks complied with the demand and the suspect fled the scene with an “undetermined amount of cash.”

A K-9 unit dispatched to the scene tracked the suspect’s scent trail to an area near the business, before it came to an end. The suspect is described as a black man over 6-feet, with facial hear. He was wearing glasses, black clothing and a baseball cap.
