On Wednesday afternoon, a 39-year-old man was arrested after fleeing from a traffic stop on Interstate 5 near Eugene, Oregon. At roughly 3:30 PM, a trooper attempted to stop a white 2012 Chrysler 300 near milepost 195. The driver, who was ultimately identified as Harold Deandre Jones, was observed traveling at a high rate of speed.
The defendant initially stopped. When the trooper attempted to approach the defendant’s vehicle, he fled. Jones continued north reaching speeds faster than 100 miles per hour.
