NYPD Investigating Armed Robbery At Hell’s Kitchen Liquor Store


New York Police Department said a man robbed the Cellar 53 Liquor Store in Hell’s Kitchen at gunpoint on Thursday. Approximately 2:45 p.m., police responded to a reported armed robbery on 10th Avenue near West 53rd Street. At the scene, the responding officers met with a female victim who said she had been robbed at gunpoint.

Police obtained the store’s video surveillance footage, which showed the suspect approach the counter, brandish a handgun and demand money. The clerk complied and the suspect grabbed a bag full of money, before fleeing the scene.

The suspect stole $780 from the store, according to the report. He is described as a white male 5-foot-5, between 45 and 50 years old and between 175 and 190 pounds. He was wearing a gray cap, gray/blue sneakers, blue fleece pullover and blue pants.
