Montgomery County, Virginia Teacher Arrested And Fired For Showing Up To Work Drunk0
On Wednesday, a Virginia teacher became a bad influence for her students. At roughly 10:20 AM, the Montgomery County Public Schools Human Resources department made contact with the Sheriff’s Office. Officers were dispatched to the Montgomery Elementary School to handle a problem with a teacher.
After arriving at the school, deputies met with the staff and 26-year-old Chelsea Carter of Wytheville in the principal’s office. Information provided by the school staff and the deputies’ own observations led to the arrest of Carter. She was subsequently charged with public intoxication and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
Cater was released on bond around 3:30 the same day. Carter previously worked at Eastern Montgomery Elementary School. Montgomery County Public Schools confirm that Carter has since been removed from her position with MCPS.
