Marshfield Man Gets Tipsy While Locked In A Beer Cooler Overnight

Wisconsin Police say a 38-year-old man entered a Kwik Trip convenience store to purchase some beer around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday night. After entering the walk-in cooler, he became trapped and the store closed, according to the police report.

The man said he decided to stay inside the cooler, instead of tap on the door to be freed. To stay cozy and pass the time away inside the 32 degrees environment, the man consumed three cans of malt liquor and an 18-ounce bottle of booze.

An employee working in the store at approximately 5:50 a.m. Wednesday morning was alerted of the man locked in the cooler by another customer. When the man, whose name was not released, was released, he exited the store without paying for the alcohol he consumed.

Police charged the man with misdemeanor theft.
