Man Buys Liquor With Fake $100 Bill At Route 106 Wine & Spirits In Mansfield


Mansfield Police are trying to identify a man who purchased a bottle of alcohol with a counterfeit $100 bill at a liquor store near the Mansfield-Foxborough line. The suspect described as an adult male between 20 and 30 years of age.

Mansfield PoliceLast week, the suspect entered the Route 106 Wine & Spirits at 377 Chauncy Street in Mansfield and purchased a bottle of liquor with a fake $100 bill, according to the report.

The clerk performed a marker test on the bill, before accepting it as payment for a bottle of Hennessy Privilege. After the suspect received $49.22 in change, he exited the store with his bottle of alcohol.

The suspect is wanted for passing counterfeit money and larceny. Police released a new surveillance photo of the suspect and are urging anyone who can identify him to contact detectives at 508-261-7301.
