Madison Police Investigating $600 Liquor Theft At Target


Madison Police say an older man entered the Target at 201 Junction Road Saturday and stole $600 worth of alcohol, before exiting the store. An older male suspect pulled off a shoplifting heist in front of Target employees and customers.


Approximately 8:30 p.m., a Target employee observed a man about 50 to 60 years old enter the store, load a shopping cart with liquor and exiting the store. The store employee followed the suspect to the parking lot, where he was loading the alcohol into his vehicle. The 21-year-old employee retreated back toward the store after the suspect pushed him. The suspect then chased him back into the store and punched him in the head, sending him to the floor.

The suspect was driving an older model red Ford Taurus, according to the report. He was described as a black male, 8-feet 9-inches in height, 250 pounds, medium to heavy build, short gray hair and gray beard.

Police said the suspect was being belligerent, cursing and drawing a lot of attention, while he loaded to stolen alcohol into his vehicle.
