Drunken International Graduate Student At Rider University Goes On Campus Joyride

University is all about getting an education. Some get an education for a future career and others get an education in booze. On Friday, a 27-year-old township man took the latter route. After becoming intoxicated, police and reports suggest that David Said Madjrouh borrowed his friend’s vehicle and took it for a joyride across Rider University’s campus.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t a whole lot of joy in the ride. Instead, the suspect struck several objects and hopped a curb, before finally crashing near a mail building. A sophomore education major reported that she was nearly hit by the vehicle. Public safety officers with the University responded to the incident after witnessing the student cruising along at a high rate of speed.

During their pursuit, the vehicle struck a sidewalk and was ultimately rendered disabled. During the crash, the vehicle’s airbags were activated. Lawrence police officers arrested Madjrouh at approximately 1:20 PM. The man, who resides on Roseberry Court, was subsequently charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.

According to NJ.com, Rider’s May 2017 commencement book suggests that the suspect graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in finance from the College of Business Administration. Depending on the man’s state, it’ll either be a day he’ll never forget or one he’ll never remember.
