Barefoot Drunk Woman Kicks Connecticut Officer In The Stomach0
This week, police detailed the recent arrest of a West Haven, Connecticut woman. On August 27, Westport police was dispatched to the Post Road East area after receiving reports of an intoxicated female walking barefoot and staggering about. The reports came in around 10:30 PM.
Police canvassed the scene and quickly discovered 35-year-old Amy LaFrance of West Haven. The suspect was swaying from side to side. She also struggled to stand up and was forced to use the side of the CVS building to keep her upright. As police approached, LaFrance became upset and admitted that she did not want to be in any trouble.
Police reassured the woman that they were just there to help and that she wasn’t in trouble at the time. Unfortunately, she did what any drunk would do. She grew belligerent and remained uncooperative. At one point, LaFrance tried to flee from the officers. When they ordered her to stop, she did so. She dropped to the ground and began screaming.
An ambulance was dispatched. When emergency services arrived, LaFrance again tried to run from the officers. Police had no choice, but to restrain her. As police tried to transport the female to the ambulance, she pulled away and kicked one officer in the stomach. At this point, police had enough.
LaFrance was forced to the ground and handcuffed. Then, the suspect was taken to the hospital. Police were subsequently granted a warrant for Amy LaFrance’s arrest. On September 5, LaFrance turned herself in to Westport police. She was charged with breach of peace and interfering with an officer.
LaFrance was released on a $500 bond.
